Founding place terms

These terms cover founding places on Sterling Pick, sold to the first 20 app makers before launch. They’re an agreement between you, the business buying the place, and Sterling Pick, run by Markus Skov (sole proprietorship, org.nr. 920 721 869, Norway). The terms of listing, which apply once your app is listed, will be published before applications open.

What a founding place is

A founding place costs $149, plus VAT where it applies. It covers:

• a review of one app, without the review fee (normally $99);
• that app’s first year of listing, if it’s approved (normally $249 a year);
• renewals at $149 a year while the listing stays current.

One place is for one app. There are 20 places, and the payment page closes when they’re gone.

For businesses only

Founding places are sold to businesses. By buying one, you confirm that you’re buying for your business, not as a consumer.

Paying doesn’t buy approval

Your app is reviewed by hand against the same nine published criteria as every other app. We decide whether it’s listed, and a founding place doesn’t change that decision.

Your claim code

After you pay, we email you a claim code. When applications open, sign in and enter it to apply with your founding place. The code works once, and anyone who has it can use it, so keep it safe. If you lose it, write to us and we’ll help once we’ve confirmed it’s you.

Full refund if your app isn’t listed

You get back everything you paid if:

• your app isn’t approved; or
• your app isn’t listed on Sterling Pick by 31 March 2027, for any reason, including if we launch later than planned.

You don’t need to ask: we start the refund within 14 days of the decision, or of 31 March 2027, to the card or account you paid with.

Launch

We plan to open applications before launch, and to launch on 1 March 2027. These dates may move. The refund promise above doesn’t.

Renewals

If your app is listed, its listing renews each year at $149, plus VAT where it applies, for as long as it stays current. Each renewal needs the app to pass our yearly re-check. You can cancel at any time, and the listing then ends when the paid year does. If a listing lapses and isn’t renewed within 90 days, the founding price ends with it.

Invoices and VAT

You get an invoice for every payment. Prices are in US dollars and exclude VAT, which is added where it applies.

Our liability

Our total liability for a founding place is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law doesn’t allow such a limit.

Changes

We won’t change these terms for a place you’ve already bought, except in your favour.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett).
